We are now looking at how we can use Minecraft Education across the school.
We used a shared whiteboard on Canva to create Christmas outfits. We all started with a blank outfit, and children got creative! As it was a shared whiteboard, all the children could see each other's ideas and then vote (by adding a smiley face) on their favourite.
This term, I am running a computer club and for the first few weeks we will be using the Micro:bits. During the first few sessions the children played with the Micro:bits, used the Micro:bit website for ideas and experimented. They were excited to see what they could do but were even more excited to see their codes come to live on the digital displays on the Micro:bit.
Canva Edu has some great tools for your classroom. I have been experimenting with a range of messages to be displayed on the whiteboard as the children enter the classroom.
Here are a few that the children like seeing when they come into the classroom. They are very quick and simple to make and look great!
Videos can also be used on email or WhatsApp groups to share information. An example from our school running club can be seen opposite.
We ran a stop frame animation club which the children really enjoyed. We used a simple Stop Motion Animation all on the iPads for the videos. Children then imported their short movies into iMovie and Cap Cut to add sounds, title screens and voice overs. Children used a range of materials including blue tack, plasticene, tin foil, beans, fruit and other creative ideas that they came up with.
